Teoman Ayhan•Ozbakir was born in Sydney Australia.

Teoman is a third-year Classical Piano Performance student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying under Natalia Ricci, with a strong emerging profile as both an accompanist/repetiteur and a developing conductor. He maintains an active performance and coaching practice across Sydney, balancing professional engagements with ongoing academic excellence. Teoman currently works as a repetiteur with Rockdale Opera Company, preparing and performing for productions including The Merry Wives of Windsor (2025), La Traviata (2025), The Monk (2026 – world premier opera), and as chorusmaster/conductor for Patience (2026). Teoman was assistant conductor and repetiteur for Shaumet Music’s production of Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold in which he conducted at the City Recital Hall in April this year. He has also conducted at Bondi Beach Public School and Rose Bay Public School, accompanies Sing Australia Ashbury, and teaches piano and flute. His performance experience spans solo piano concerts, ensemble work, and orchestral participation. As a school-aged musician, he performed on flute in Newington College’s Symphonic Winds and Junior School Orchestra, and played multiple instruments—including keyboard, bass, guitar, and drums—in various school bands. He is a long-standing member of the Australian Turkish Music Ensemble, performing as pianist, flautist, and drummer since 2019. Teoman has been selected twice for the Senior State Wind Band (2022, 2023), performing at the Sydney Opera House in both years, and participated in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Young Musicians Workshop (2022). In 2021, he joined the Talent Development Project as its sole instrumentalist participant. His recent professional development includes piano masterclasses at the International Gümüşlük Music Festival (2025) with Gülsin Onay and Didier Castell-Jacomin, a repetiteur masterclass with Maestra Helena Dix (2025) through MOST, and a conducting intensive with Fabian Russell (2025). Teoman’s achievements include the Atatürk Scholarship (2024); 2nd place and the People’s Choice Award at the 2023 Sutherland Shire and St George Youth Music Awards; and multiple academic distinctions in the HSC. He also holds AMEB qualifications including CMus Piano (2022) and Grade 6 Flute (2021). With a growing passion for opera, ensemble leadership, and community music-making, Teoman continues to develop his skills as a pianist, repetiteur, and conductor.
